Sexual Behavior-Specific Treatment Program

(For individuals engaging in problematic sexual behavior)

Change begins with accountability. Our sexual behavior-specific treatment program provides a structured, supportive environment where clients are challenged to understand their behavior, take responsibility for their choices, and develop the skills needed to move forward differently.

Through evidence-based treatment, clear expectations, and a focus on personal responsibility, we work to promote lasting behavior change, healthier relationships, and community safety.

The program is designed to serve both court-involved and voluntary clients.

Our Treatment Approach

Our sexual behavior-specific treatment program is grounded in evidence-based approaches that support meaningful behavior change, reduce risk, and promote long-term success. Treatment is individualized to each client’s needs, strengths, and level of risk while maintaining a clear focus on accountability and community safety.

Risk–Need–Responsivity (RNR)

The Risk–Need–Responsivity (RNR) model guides our approach to individualized treatment:

  • Risk: Treatment intensity is matched to each client’s level of risk.

  • Need: Treatment focuses on factors that contribute to problematic behavior and can be changed through intervention.

  • Responsivity: Treatment is tailored to each client’s strengths, abilities, and individual needs to support meaningful engagement and progress.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a foundation of our clinical approach. Clients develop practical skills to:

  • recognize unhelpful thinking patterns

  • regulate emotions

  • make healthier decisions

  • replace risky behaviors with more effective choices.

Areas of Focus

Depending on individual treatment needs, services may address:

  • Accountability and personal responsibility

  • Risk factors and behavioral patterns

  • Thinking errors and cognitive distortions

  • Emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Healthy sexuality

  • Consent, boundaries, and respectful relationships

  • Relapse prevention and safety planning

  • Values, goals, and long-term behavior change

UDC Approved and Compliant

For court-involved clients, our sexual behavior-specific treatment program is approved by the Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) and meets applicable UDC requirements for community-based treatment of individuals with sex offense convictions.
